I rarely venture out of Manhattan, but this weekend, I traveled north with some friends to pick apples and specials before Black Friday (the perfect fall day). When we arrived at the mall, seeing so many people wearing the trend I predicted a year or two ago and shopping, my heart jumped. Since I tend to stay in quieter parts of New York City, I rarely encounter such a large crowd, and my analytical fashion brain is scanning. I remembered the power of discovering trends-watching something walk on the runway, then glimpsing the fashion insiders wearing it, and then finally being submerged in the crowd wearing seemingly Jacquemus-style knitwear and Celine-level tailoring. It's interesting.

My little weekend trip inspired me to return to the home of fashion editor Crystal Ball to see what else is in the future. After digging through my notes in the Fashion Week and Instagram Saved folders, I selected the best trends that will definitely break out in 2022.
